Darina Zavadilová

Darina Zavadilová is a PhD student of the art history and theory program at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design (UMPRUM) in Prague, Czech Republic. Her dissertation project deals with the Czechoslovak-Cuban relations in the field of fine arts and visual culture during the 1960s. In her research, she builds on her study internship focused on the history of art in Latin America completed in 2010 at the University of New Mexico and her diploma thesis on design as a political tool on the example of post-revolutionary Cuba. In 2019, she completed an independent research stay in Havana. She has published several her texts in various anthologies, including the catalogue for the collective exhibition Building a State: The Representation of Czechoslovakia in Art, Architecture and Design held in the National Gallery Prague in 2015
